
Talsi Regional Municipality
According to Law of Republic of Latvia on Administrative Territories and Populated Areas there are 9 cities and 110 municipalities.
In the territory of the former Talsi District there are four municipalities, since July 1st 2009 – Talsi Municipality, Roja Municipality, Dundaga Municipality and Mērsrags Municipality.
There are four towns in Talsi Municipality - Sabile, Stende, Talsi and Valdemārpils and 14 Rural Territories – Abava, Ārlava, Balgale, Ģibuļi, Īve, Ķūļciems, Laidze, Lauciene, Lībagi, Lube, Strazde, Valdgale ,Vandzene and Virbi.

Territory
• County’s main road Ventspils – Rīga (A 10) and railroad Ventspils – Rīga crosses Talsi Municipality.
Largest part of region consists of highlands of Northern Courland. Small part of region is taken up by Costal lowlands in the northeast.

–High point - Kamparkalns (174 m)
Landscape diversity is an opportunity and at the same time limitation to entrepreneurship, as well as a resource of tourism development.
